To create the maps, researchers analyzed the 46.7 million tweets posted between October 23 and November 30, 2012, looking specifically at those with a tagged geographic location.

Of course, I’m a big believer in Twitter (although I wasn’t initially, I will admit). Most of my connections nowadays are through Twitter, and my Twitter followers and those who are followed are always growing!
