Danielle M. Villegas‘s insight:

Does that image look like Cornell West, formerly of Princeton University? That aside, the author of this article makes an excellent point. As the daughter of a lifelong education professional as well as someone who has integrated herself in education in an unconventional way and has done some teaching herself, I know that many of these skills not only apply to teachers, but many social science and humanities majors out there. We all can’t be computer developers who know how to write. We all can bring something to the table having multiple skillsets.

Evernote – the Ultimate Conference Tool

See on Scoop.itM-learning, E-Learning, and Technical Communications

I love Evernote, the popular, cross-platform note-taking application. I use it on all my devices (desktop, Android phone, and iPad) for many reasons: A to-do list note for every day of the week. Sh…

Danielle M. Villegas‘s insight:

My friend, Ed Marsh, has written a great article of the benefits of using the app, Evernote, for conference use. Considering I met Ed at two different tech comm conferences, I’ll take his word for it! I haven’t jumped on the Evernote bandwagon still, but between this recommendation and the one from my friend, Shay Shaked (see http://wp.me/p2hiSW-e6), it’s making me think that I need to reconsider!

Check out Ed’s blog while you’re at it. He’s good tech comm people. 😉

Planning content for your blog

See on Scoop.itM-learning, E-Learning, and Technical Communications

Danielle M. Villegas‘s insight:

This is a great article by Scott Nesbitt, who posted about it on Google+. He’s right in that good blogging is actually pre-planned and pre-organized ahead of time. I don’t necessarily do the same steps as he does, but the principle is the same. If I have an idea and it’s timeless versus timely, I’ll start a draft in WordPress, add a title and a few key points that I want to highlights, and then I’ll save the draft for another time. I have a stash of article ideas waiting to be written if I run out of ideas or if I need to figure out how to pace myself for a series of articles (as I’m doing now for my coverage of my Adobe Day/Lavacon visit).  Some great tips on how to start thinking as a serious blogger.
