The Tech Comm part:
I’m a web publishing consultant, and a recent graduate of the Master’s program of Professional and Technical Communications (MSPTC) at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), having professionally been involved in technical communications, mostly with content management, for most of my IT career. I’ve worked in a variety of different industries, including manufacturing, pharmaceutical, financial, philanthropy, publishing, and e-learning, but my favorite has been e-learning, and I want to get more involved in that industry again, since my content management experience actually started with one of the first e-learning dot-com companies in the late nineties.
The Geek Mom part:
I am a geek, and I am a mom. Inspiration for labeling myself a “geekmom” came from the website, Geekmom.com, as I strongly associate with the ladies in that group. (I know one of the contributing editors/writers there, too.) I have long been a geek, majoring in history, yet loving many pop culture things related to sci-fi, computing, arts and crafts, and martial arts. Yeah, call me ecclectic, but it works.
So, altogether, you have one TechCommGeekMom.
