We don’t need another generation of workers simply enduring their lives.

Great article brought to my attention by the great @jackiegerstein.

This is not a new problem. I remember being a university student 25 years ago this being a problem even then. My parents were pushing me to take business courses when I didn’t have an aptitude for it, and had a better aptitude for the humanities. I couldn’t even take a basic marketing course unless I took an accounting course, and even with tutoring I passed with a D in accounting.  It wasn’t until many years later that I found something that combined my love of humanities and social sciences with technology in a way that worked for me. I just wish I had found it sooner– I already feel I’m behind professionally! Hopefully now that technology is at a point where content is starting to become more relevant, humanities and social science majors will have more professional outlets for the fields that they love.
